Audit & Accounts Manager

Job Category: Accounting Audit & Assurance
Job Type: Full Time Permanent
Job Location: Central London
Salary: To £65000 + Benefits + Bonus
Job Level: Manager
Job Ref: BAV2763

Are you a fully ACA qualified Audit & Accounts Manager or Assistant Manager from an independent practice firm looking to upgrade to a very good quality, traditional and friendly medium size London based accountancy firm and carry out a varied role consisting of audit assignments, statutory accounts preparation work, tax returns and various advisory based projects?  Are you keen to work in a very good quality firm with excellent development opportunities and future progression on offer? In this newly created role due to the firm winning lots of new audit work from larger firms, your role will be split up to 50% audit assignments (they are flexible and the role will likely be between 30% and 50% audit), 40% statutory accounts & corporation tax and 10% ad hoc projects. Based in a general practice role in a firm with around 60 staff, you will be responsible for managing your own portfolio of clients, managing workflow, liaising with clients, reporting to Partners, and reviewing audit, accounts and tax assignments to completion and sign off stage. You will deal with client queries, technical research, HMRC queries and also be responsible for supervising junior staff and reviewing their work. Your role will be varied, challenging and hugely enjoyable with great future progression prospects on offer. In this new role, you will gain exposure to a wide range of UK and international clients, including groups, from sectors including media, property, legal, financial services, technology, renewable energy, retail and other interesting sectors. The firm would look at a good quality candidate operating at either Supervisor / Assistant Manager or Manager level. This firm has had great success with people who have trained outside of London and want to relocate to a London firm for the exposure and opportunities on offer. The firm offers hybrid working – 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

To be considered for this new role (April 2023) you must have at least five years experience, probably in a small or medium size accountancy firm and be fully ACA qualified with a few years post qualification experience, OR you might be from a larger firm background and looking to join a smaller firm where you can carry out a mixed role and achieve a better work life balance including hybrid working. You must have experience of leading audit assignments from planning to completion, reviewing work, managing a portfolio of clients, managing workflow, and working in an advisory capacity to clients. Experience of a wide range of software packages, including Caseware would be an advantage as is a desire to work in a mixed general practice role. You must be well presented, be a team player, and be looking to progress at a rapid pace. The firm welcomes applications from candidates looking to relocate to London from another UK based practice firm.

This growing accountancy firm has a great reputation for being a friendly and supportive place to work and providing their staff with challenging and varied roles. You will work in a friendly and growing team, and you can expect to work on an interesting array of high profile and growing London based clients as well as international clients. The firm is growing at a rapid rate due to many new business wins from larger accountancy firms. This is a unique opportunity for an ACA qualified Audit & Accounts Manager or Assistant Manager / Supervisor to join an entrepreneurial yet traditional practice and play a role of great importance to the continued growth of the firm. It is also a great opportunity to develop your managerial skills and progress in the future.
