Reporting to an external accountant and the owner of the business, your role will be varied and hands on. Duties will include: being in charge of all the firms finances, preparing the annual statutory accounts, monthly management accounts, all tax and VAT returns, maintaining the sales ledger and purchase ledger, budgeting, cashflows, forecasting, analysing expenses, plus any ad hoc projects as required by the business. There will also be a large advisory element to your role and the firm will be looking for your input to improve systems, processes and controls and general advice how the owners can improve their business overall. Your role will be varied and challenging, yet enjoyable and rewarding, with a clear path to progression in the future. The firm are happy to look at someone from either an industry or practice background. They are also happy to look at someone full time, or part time 4 days a week.
To be considered for this newly created role (January 2024) due to the firm bringing the finance function back in house, you will be working either in industry or in practice and you must have experience of the above duties, including the preparation of statutory accounts, management accounts, Vat returns, bookkeeping, cashflows, budgeting and basic forecasts. You must be ACA or ACCA qualified and ideally have at least 2 years PQE. It is likely you will be from a small or medium firm background. You must also live within commutable distance of Zone 1 Central London and have a good eye for detail. You must also have experience working in an SME / entrepreneurial environment and be willing to work in a hands on role. You must also have experience of using Xero software. You must be driven, commercial, be able to work to tight deadlines, be motivated and be able to operate in a stimulating, fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment.
